Get up close, get personable and delve into the fabulous and oh-so-stylish world of Mindy!

To help celebrate the upcoming sixth and final season of The Mindy Project, The Paley Center is home to the first of its kind ever, fashion exhibition.  It explores the intimate relationship that costumes have played in bringing the show to life.  You’ll view costumes worn by the cast (mostly Mindy) from seasons past and yet to be seen this season.  It’s an interactive experience, so feel free to come into contact with some of Mindy’s most memorable pieces.  Some are even from her very own closet!

Welcome to Season 6 of The Mindy Project.  Through this fashionista of an exhibit, you’ll explore color, texture, and style!

To Visit:  The Paley Center for Media | 465 N. Beverly Dr.| Beverly Hills, CA 90210 | 310-786-1000 | open until October 1, 2017

Salvador Perez, the head costume designer on The Mindy Show and current president of The Costume Designers Guild took us on a one of a kind tour at the gorgeous Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.  He explained that every single item worn by Mindy was altered or custom made specifically for her body.  This custom three-piece suit was sewn from a pink Brocade complete with a delicate and hand sewn pearl trim.   He added a silk lining to the jacket matching the shirt and trim, just because!

Worn in Season 4 Episode. 11, “Christmas.”

Salvador shared that he and Mindy have a great relationship and she is very hands-on in creating the concepts for her some of her most iconic looks.  This layered houndstooth and yellow were worn early in her pregnancy before she went public with the announcement.

Worn in S3 Ep. 19, “Confessions of a Catho-holic

I love how the artist, Aasha Ramdeen, perfectly captured Mindy’s beautiful brown hues in her skin.  Mindy’s entire lookbook mimics that of paper dolls, mostly consisting of two poses. – Salvador Perez

Tune in exclusively on HULU for the Series finale and Season 6 of The Mindy Project.  While you’re there, may as well binge and catch up on the previous seasons too!  They’ve got them all 🙂

Sexy. Fun. Free.

Black Button Front Blouse Carmel Leather Jacket, Silver & Gold Sequin Skirt S2. Ep. 7, “Sk8r Man”

Worn in Season 2 Episode 7, “Sk8r Man”

After 4 Vodka Sodas, I realized I had something to say.  -Mindy from Season 1 Episode 1, Pilot

All custom.  All about the details.

I’m not sure that I’d run anywhere in this custom made track suit.  A fun fact is that it’s made from navy blue and aqua sequins and the fabric cost more than the actual labor to construct the garment!

Worn in  Season6 Episode 3 “May Divorce Be With You”

Paying homage.  While Mindy is of Indian descent, her wardrobe over the seasons remains American and European influenced.  She has only worn a handful of Sari’s in her lifetime.

One BIG happy!  Tall gals in the back…
