Simply LA The Premiere Conference for Beauty and Fashion

Simply Inspiration

SimplyLA was held at the beautiful Americana Brand outdoor, courtyard style mall in Glendale, California.  Sunshine and beauty were everywhere.  There were lots of flowers, friends, families and, couples out enjoying the day and nestled right in the middle of all this goodness was SIMPLY LA.

As a leading beauty and fashion conference, SIMPLY LA encourages others to pursue their dreams in a nonjudgmental and kind environment.  The day got started with a healthy breakfast and words with Simply Founder Sarah Boyd and Shadow Hunter’s actress Emeraude Toubia.

Simply Sarah

In another life, Sarah Boyd was a smart public relations veteran who saw an opportunity to connect people, successfully.  She noticed that there was a need for a space where creatives from the fashion and beauty industry could come to together to aspire and inspire one another.  And the SIMPLY brand was then born.

Business and Motherhood

Sarah took time off when she had her baby, a now 2 and a half year old girl.  She was to be a first time mom and didn’t realize the “real time” that goes into having a baby for the first time.  After delivery she enjoyed a six week hiatus to enjoy her new found love of being a mother.

I’ve learned that, If I am with her, I am with her.  If I am at work, I am at work.  Being a mom has really helped me get rid of a lot of crap that I didn’t need to be doing and helped me to do things more SIMPLY. ~ Sarah Boyd, Simply Founder and President @sarahpboyd

Emeraude Toubia Pays Attention

Since portraying a character on Shadowhunters displaying supernatural powers it was only natural that Brownsville, Texas native Emeraude Toubia says she pays attention to how she feels on her journey in life.  Her supernatural power is following her hustle instinct and doing what she needs to do to stay positive.

Focusing on the positive helps highlight the progress in my life. ~ Emeraude Toubia

The Simple Things

There are days when downtime is needed,  to give herself time Emeraude will go to the gym or Netflix and chill but only for a day.  No time for bad habits.  She advices to go on a walk, call your favorite relative, just slow down and take time for yourself.

As the morning progressed I wondered around SIMPLY LA to take in the rest of the event as I to aspire and want to be inspired.  There were live beauty demos by bh Cosmetics, WhoWhatWear had a cute booth showing fall fashions that are now in Target stores, MiniLuxe were giving color pop’n mini manis, Zibe Beauty was on hand to touch up or clean up your brows, LUNA Bar gave out tasty samples and Grey Goose gave out mixology demos to quench our thirst.

Participating brands were: OGX, LUNA, bh Cosmetics, Grey Goose, Endless Summer, Bless Box, ographr, CAMP’D OUT, Ladureeus, TOTALEE, Mode Relier, FHI Heat, Bellevue, Foster Grant, Ziba, & Other Stories, sugarfina, and MiniLuxe

I met many professional women involved in the influencer, blogging, fashion and beauty industries.  Most of them beamed like a ray of light.  All were open to sharing and helping whomever came across their path.  I will definitely return to SIMPLY LA next year.  http://www.simply-inc.com/
