The Year of Marvel
2018 is definitely the year of MARVEL! Marvel Studios has brought some of the best superhero comics to life on the big screen. This summer has been loaded with heavy hitters such as Black Panther, AVENGERS Infinity Wars and now Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Two Key Ingredients of a Superhero Film
Let’s proof our checklist of Ant-Man and the Wasp to ensure that we have all three of the very necessary ingredients for a Marvel Studios comic to movie.
First up is being human with superhuman abilities and responsibilities or in this case having a suit with all the above. Ant-Man is a regular guy and dad but his suit may be small but has big superhero powers. Ant-Man has the astonishing ability to shrink and grow into a supersized version of himself. The struggle is real and balancing being both a father and superhero has its challenges. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as a Super Hero, Scott Lang finds himself suiting up as Ant-Man once again when he must join forces with Hope van Dyne, The Wasp, on an urgent mission to uncover secrets from the past.
Next up is the sidekick. Including the challenge of working with a team. Most Super Heroes work best alone. The Wasp has been honing her skills for two years and is ready to show the world, especially Ant-Man what she is capable of. So his sidekick is born. (She the first female featured in a Marvel Film too!)
Year of The Woman
2018 has celebrated women in many industries and communities after all women are doing some incredible things and getting credit for it. Hollywood made a note and has done an awesome job at being inclusive to female heroines.
The most exciting and anticipated reveal in the film is the introduction of The Wasp, which brings an amazing, female
Super Hero to the big screen, and into the heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Directed by: Peyton Reed
Produced by: Kevin Feige
Starring: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Walton Goggins, Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Hannah John Kamen, Abby Ryder-Fortson, Randall Park, with Michelle Pfeiffer, with Laurence Fishburne and Michael Douglas.
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes ANT–MAN AND THE WASP, a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant–Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
