Great things are often created by women and by mothers. Areva Martin, author, attorney, advocate and TV Host and most importantly a mother is one of those women. After needing care for her own son after his autism diagnosis at age two Areva combined her legal skills and entrepreneurial talents to create the parent-centered non-profit organization whose mission is to raise public awareness about developmental disabilities and to impact public policy.
The goal of Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) is to provide education and resources to families, children, and adults living with autism and related developmental disorders by advocating on their behalf to ensure that issues specific to these communities are addressed. It was a beautiful morning to spend with a group of women whose ages span over four generations. The panel consisted of actress Elisa Neal (age 50), Rachel McCord founder of The McCord List of Influential Women( Millenial), Sonia Bansal MD. of Dermatology( age 41) and Michele Elyzabeth CEO/Founder of the Hollywood Beauty Awards (age 68) . They each shared insight into the minds of their generations on what it means to be beautiful at any age, the aging process, and to have or not to have plastic surgery. There was a mutual amount of respect amongst them as each chimed in with their responses.
One of biggest gems dropped was being sexy is a state of mind and exist at every age.
